The IEEE Student Branch at BITM, in association with the IEEE Bangalore Section, organized a virtual webinar on 30th August 2025 via Microsoft Teams. The session was delivered by Dr. Abdul Lateef Haroon and focused on providing a comprehensive understanding of IEEE’s Volunteer Tools (vTools) platform.
The webinar highlighted the importance of vTools as a centralized suite designed to simplify and streamline administrative and operational activities within IEEE. Dr. Haroon explained how these tools help volunteers efficiently manage tasks such as event organization, communication, membership validation, and financial reporting. He emphasized the need for such a platform, considering IEEE’s vast global network, where manual processes can be time-consuming and prone to errors.
The session provided detailed insights into key tools, including vTools Events for event management, vTools Email for targeted communication, and Membership Validator for real-time verification. Additionally, tools like eBudget and L31 reporting were discussed to demonstrate how financial transparency and accountability are maintained. Participants also learned about analytics and survey tools that support data-driven decision-making and improve member engagement.
Overall, the webinar enabled participants to understand how vTools enhances efficiency, ensures compliance, and empowers IEEE volunteers to focus more on impactful technical and professional activities.
