The 6G Centre of Excellence (CoE) at the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Ballari Institute of Technology & Management (BITM), Ballari, has been established to promote advanced research, innovation, and skill development in next-generation communication technologies. The centre focuses on emerging areas such as Signal Processing, Wireless Communication, Visible Light Communication (VLC), and Software Defined Radio (SDR) technologies.

This centre has been developed with technical collaboration from IISc Bangalore and TIE (Technical Institute for Engineers) to bridge the gap between academic learning and cutting-edge industrial research.

Vision

To create a research-driven ecosystem that empowers students, researchers, and faculty to explore next-generation communication technologies including 6G, enabling innovation in wireless communication, signal processing, and intelligent networking.

Research on communication systems that use LED light sources for high-speed data transmission, enabling secure and high-bandwidth indoor communication.

2. Software Defined Radio (SDR) Testbeds

Development and testing of communication systems using SDR platforms for FM Radio, OFDM systems, and next-generation wireless protocols.

3. Signal Processing Research

Advanced experimentation in digital signal processing, modulation techniques, and wireless communication algorithms.

4. 6G Communication Technologies

Exploration of future communication paradigms including ultra-high data rates, low latency networks, integrated sensing and communication, and intelligent wireless systems.
