Functions

• Promote Road Safety Awareness – Conduct awareness campaigns to educate the campus community about safe road practices.
• Encourage Discipline Among Road Users – Foster a sense of responsibility and adherence to traffic rules among all road users.
• Train in First Aid and Emergency Response – Provide training sessions on basic first aid and emergency handling during road incidents.
• Organize Educational Activities – Plan and execute seminars, workshops, rallies, and poster campaigns related to road safety.
• Monitor and Report Unsafe Practices – Identify, document, and report unsafe behaviors or road conditions for necessary action.
• Promote Use of Safety Gear – Encourage the use of helmets, seatbelts, and other protective equipment.
• Support National Road Safety Goals – Align institutional efforts with national campaigns and initiatives for road safety.

Responsibilities of Road Safety Coordinators

• Develop and implement strategic plans and road safety initiatives – Tailored to institutional needs.
• Design and disseminate educational content – Raise awareness about road safety among students, staff.
• Regularly assess the impact and effectiveness – Evaluate road safety programs and suggest necessary improvements.
• Assist in enforcing traffic rules and safety regulations – Within the institution’s premises.
• Organize training sessions and workshops – Build skills in road safety practices and emergency response among staff, students, and volunteers.
