MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

The B.E. course in Mechanical Engineering is a 4-year professional undergraduate program that provides an intellectual foundation and understanding of the fundamentals of all engineering disciplines, preparing the students to opt for diversified careers in engineering, technology, management, and entrepreneurship. The program caters to mechanical engineering students to acquire core and multi-disciplinary skills.

The department is one of the basic engineering branches in the college equipped with state of art laboratory facilities apart from the regular workshops, metrology, IC engine, material testing, and hydraulics laboratories. The department is housed in separate premises named Dr. Rajgopal Block.

The Department has got an intake of 180 students from the academic year 2019-20, is accredited with NAAC, and NBA, and is certified by ISO-9001:2015.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs):

PEO 1: To make graduates self-sustained by exploring engineering problems with innovative ideas to tackle real-time issues.
PEO 2: To make graduates aware of the significance of competence in core engineering concepts to adopt good ethical and leadership qualities.
PEO 3: To inculcate the graduates to pursue lifelong learning processes.

Program outcomes (POs):

PO-1.Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO-2.Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO-3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO-4.Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

The B.E. course in Mechanical Engineering is a 4-year professional undergraduate program that provides an intellectual foundation and understanding of the most fundamentals of all engineering disciplines, preparing the students to opt diversified careers in engineering, technology, management, and as entrepreneurs. The program caters mechanical engineering students to acquire core and multi-disciplinary skills.

The department is one of the basic engineering branches in the college equipped with state of art laboratory facilities apart from regular workshop, metrology, IC engine, material testing and hydraulics laboratories. The department is housed in separate premises named “Dr. Rajgopal Block.

The Department has got an intake of 180 students from the academic year 2019-20, accredited with NAAC, NBA and certified by ISO-9001:2015.

The department is one of the basic engineering branches in the college equipped with latest machine tools and metrology facility and is housed in separate premises named “Dr. Rajgopal Block”.

The Department has got an intake of 180 students from the academic year 2019-20, accredited with NAAC, and certified by ISO-9001:2015.

  • The department of Mechanical Engineering has established “Center of Excellence” in association with TVS Haritha Tech to train the students on industry-ready skills on Unigraphics, NX11 Design Module, and CATIA V5 software.
  • The department is equipped with high-end CAD/CAM software and CNC machines which in addition to the academics also caters to research and analysis.
  • The students are exposed to the latest trends of Mechanical Engineering applications, some of the projects carried out by the students have brought the laurels to the department. This has been possible only due to the dedication, sincerity, and hard work of the faculty
  • The faculties are encouraged to update their knowledge by attendingand organizing Faculty Development Program, workshops, seminars and conferences
  • Mechanical Engineers are concerned with all types of machinery, and all aspects of their mechanism and functioning; the design, development, construction, production, installation, and operation of all mechanical systems in industries, including power plants, transport equipment, air-conditioning, boilers, refrigerators, and internal combustion.
  • The department has been continuously recording best results in all the semesters.
  • The Labs are well equipped with latest gadgets like Auto Collimeter, Profile Projector, Tool Maker’s Microscope, CAD Lab with latest software, etc.,
  • The department has received research grants from various Government funding agencies namely KCTU -GOI, VGST-GOK and MODROBS-AICTE New Delhi.
