Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering established in the year 1997, has well qualified, committed faculty members and has steadily grown from its humble beginning to a full-fledged department. It has well equipped laboratories, VTU Recognized Research centre and infrastructure. The department facilitates faculty to work as a team and update their knowledge and develop skills to match the industrial and technological requirements.

2 EIGEN VALUE BASED SPECTRUM SENSING ALGORITHM FOR COGNITIVE RADIO NETWORKS Ø  Cognitive radio is a software defined radio brings an intelligent solution to efficiently use radio spectrum.

Ø  Random matrix theory is a branch of mathematics and it is capable in analyzing large set of data, it is used to overcome both noise and channel uncertainties that occur in wireless communication.

3 DIGITAL RATION CARD USING RFID AND GSM TECHNOLOGY Ø  Ration card have been an important part of the public distribution system in India. At a higher price nobody is able to track of how much gods are sold and how much stork is remaining.

Ø  Digital ration card using RFID and GSM technology is developed to curb the illegal activity of the corrupt officials in the food department and stop black marketing of the essential goods which supplied to poor and needy.

 

4 AN EMBEDDED SMART SYSTEM FOR REMOTE CONTROL APPLICATION Ø  Electrical and electronic devices can be turned on/off remotely by making use of GSM technology.

Ø  The project aims to design smart system for remote controlling an AC motor.

Ø  A mobile phone which as in built GSM model can be used at transmitter and receiver side.

Ø  A link will be established when a call is made to the mobile phone at the receiver side from remote phone.

 

5 MULTI-PARAMETER MONITORING SYSTEM FOR COAL MINE BASED ON WIRLESS SENSOR NETWORK Ø  Multi – parameter monitoring system for coal mine based on wirelesssensor networks based on ZigBee technology for coal mine tunnel is presented.

Ø  It is flexible to add sensors enhance stability of monitoring computer software through RS_232 communication protocol and hardware modular system.

 

6 SMART POWER SAVING SYSTEM FOR POWER OPTIMIZATION Ø  The system describes a novel approach to control the speed of fan and intensity of bulb automatically.

Ø  Due to lack of water storage it is advisable to use the available resources effectively.

Ø  The main feature of the system totally automatic control of required physical parameter.

 

7 DESIGN &DEVELOPMENT OF FOOTSTEPS BASED ENERGY SYSTEM Ø    Lot of power is wasted due to human errors by not turning street light on and off at right times.

Ø    By implementing this in area there will be no need of separate power supply from the power supply stations.

Ø    The street lights can be switched on/off based on LDR without any human interventions.

8 DIGITAL FUEL METER Ø    The project is proposed on to measure approximation of the fuel quantity, which measures the actual quantity of the fuel sensing the pressure.

Ø    Design of digital fuel meter using pressure sensor or 8051 and measurement of the tank is displayed in the LCD Display

 

9 COIN SENSING MOBILE CHARGER USING SOLAR ENERGY Ø    The coin based battery charger for mobile is used to provide unique service to the rural public. Where grid power is not available for partially or full day.

Ø    The charging capacity of mobile is designed with a predefined value.

Ø    It is possible to continue a charging a mobile by inserting more coins.

Ø    The suitable microcontroller is used for all other applications.

10 INTELLIGENT CLASS WITH ENERGY SAVER Ø  The system intelligent class with energy saver is a hi-tech one for class rooms in colleges and schools.

Ø  The circuit performs three tasks they Are controlling the room lights, the number of persons/visitors in the room very accurately, to display information on LCD depending on the key pressed.

Ø  The microcontroller performs the operations it receives the signals from the sensors and these signals are operated under the control of software which is stored in ROM.

11 VOICE OPERATED WHEEL CHAIR Ø  The system is capable of moving the wheel chair based on speech and wireless controlling of electrical home devices using ZIGBEE technology.

Ø  This system helps a lot for physically challenged to operate the wheel chair by themand also to control the electrical devices such as light, fan, etc.

 

12 TWO WAY WIRELESS DATA MESSAGING SYSTEM USING ZIGBEE TECHNOLOGY Ø  The project describes a design of effective security for data communication by designing standard algorithm for encryption and decryption.

Ø  ZigBee devices have ability to form mesh networks between nodes.

Ø  This technique allows the short range of an individual node to be expanded and multiplied covering a much large area.

13 REAL TIME AUTOMIZATION OF AGRICULTURAL ENVIRONMENT FOR SOCIAL MODERNIZATION OF AGRICULTURAL SYSTEM Ø    This project is based on Embedded system in which the computer is completely encapsulated by the system it controls

Ø    The project overcomes some of the problem which occur due to grains in the field, which require minimum level of water, or else leads to destruction of the grains

14 EXPLOSIVE DETECTION AND DIFFUSION-EDAD-ROBOT Ø  The idea of this project is all about detecting and diffusion of a bomb with the help of robot.

Ø  The main idea of this robot is to provide bomb disposal squad with safety and security from the risk that they face every day.

 

15 AUTONOMUS FIRE EXTINGUISHER USING IMAGE PROCESSING Ø  The drawbacks of existing fixed water jet sprinklers can be overcome in this project.

Ø  Autonomous extinguishing system senses the fire in the area it can cover there by avoiding damage to equipment’s not affected by fire.

 

16 LOW POWER AND AREAEFFCIENT CARRY SELECT ADDER Ø  The carry select look ahead adder in many computational system is used alleviate the problem of carry propagation delay by independently generating multiple carries and then select a carry to generate the sum.

Ø  CSLA is not area efficient because it uses multiple pairs of ripple carry adder to generate partial sum and carry.

Ø  The modified SQRTCSLA is to use binary to Excess-1 converter instead of RCA with Cin=1 in the regular CSLA to achieve lower area an power consumption.

 

17 DENSITY BASED TRAFFIC CONTROLLER USING PIEZOELECTRIC SENSORS Ø  The existing system controls the traffic based on time interval bases which is inefficient for random and non-uniform traffic.

Ø  The proposed system involves the use of piezoelectric to sense the presence of traffic near any circle or any junction and then be able to root the traffic based on traffic availability.

Ø  The system uses weight of vehicle to sense the number of vehicle and a microcontroller Based routing algorithm.

18 HUMAN-ELEPHANT CONFLICT DETECTION AND AVOIDANCE SYSTEM Ø  The project proposes an innovative idea to keep in check the activities of elephants near the tracks and reduce their death rate without much interference of forest officials.

Ø  Our design aims at sensing the presence of an elephant using suitable sensor and alerting the incoming train to stop or slow down by informing using LEDs.
